Every product in your shop has its own product number.

If you add a product as described in the article Managing products, a product number is generated automatically. However, you can change the product number in the Inventory section. The product number can contain numbers, letters and special characters.

When the product numbers are assigned automatically, they follow a specific sequence, which you can customise by assigning a prefix, an addition, a divider, influencing the length of the number, and/or specifying the next sequential number. Read more in the article Number formats.

It is not possible to have two products with the same article number.
